Trillium Abyss, MSW, LCSW

LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

BIO

My name is Trill/Trillium Abyss (they/them > he/him), and I offer therapy to people of all ages. In my personal experience as a white, disabled, trans human, I understand how hard it can be to find places where it is safe to be your whole self. I work continuously to make my sessions a safe space where clients can feel affirmed and validated in their diverse experiences.

I am committed to decolonizing and deconstructing white supremacy in my practice, which — as a white licensed social worker — I am always working to improve. I am neurodiversity, intersex, queer, poly, and kink-affirming. I strive to use anti-oppressive approaches to therapy that are strengths-based and person-centered. I individualize my therapy approach to each client’s needs, including work focused on DBT skills, systems theory, and motivational interviewing.

In addition to offering therapy part time with Catalyst, I work full time at GenderNexus offering care coordination to gender-diverse folks and their loved ones. Before obtaining my Master of Social Work degree in 2022, I provided in-home case management for people with disabilities for 7 years. As of July 2024, I am fully trained in providing LGBTQ-affirmative CBT.

In my free time, I enjoy lots of nerdy hobbies. I especially love playing video games and tabletop games. Making art is one of my favorite self and community care activities. No matter what I’m doing, I usually have some music playing and fidget toys ready. My favorite way to rest is spending time with my family, friends, 2 cats, and 1 dog.
