Mindy McCutchan, LMHC-A
THERAPIST

BIO
Hi, I’m Mindy (she/her). I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, working under
supervision. It’s my philosophy that each of us is on a journey and that a counselor’s role is to
join clients in navigating part of that journey. In sessions, we will be partners in uncovering what
you need and how to achieve it. I strive to create an authentic atmosphere, full of acceptance
and honest sharing, which includes gentle challenges (both ways). It was my own experience in
therapy that led me to the mid-life decision to become a counselor and so I understand the fear
of opening up to a stranger and also, the freedom that can stem from it.
While I label myself as an existential-humanist, my clinical approach is eclectic. I like to focus on
what is affecting you in the present and explore from there. I utilize mindfulness, cognitive
behavioral, Gestalt, & Jungian therapy techniques. Yoga and movement are very important for
my own mental health. Therefore, I am working to build my experience with polyvagal theory
and somatic experiencing. I see mind and body as parts of a whole, not separate entities.
I’m an open book but so you know a little more about me on a personal level, I grew up on a
farm, spent several years in San Francisco and now pride myself on being able to walk/cycle
everywhere as a downtown Indy resident. I’ll nerd out over architecture, gardening, or national
parks and never tire of cute animal videos.
