Lindsay Mack, MA, LMHC
LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR

BIO
My name is Lindsay (she/her), and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I am passionate about helping individuals feel free to be their most confident and authentic selves through creating purpose and meaning in their lives. I have 13 years of experience working as a therapist with adolescents and adults. Before private practice I have worked in community mental health with varied settings in school-based, outpatient, and community work. In addition to providing therapy, I have extensive experience in providing skills training and empathic psychoeducation to help clients overcome personal barriers and reach the action stage of change. In addition to my Master’s Degree in Community Counseling, I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education and taught art in school settings for four years before deciding to become a therapist. This experience led me to understand that making meaningful connections can lead to healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
Due to my varied background, my therapeutic orientation involves using a mindful and non-judgmental person – centered approach, using Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma – Focused CBT, and solutions-focused therapy. I also use art with willing individuals (no artistic skills or experience needed) to assist individuals in expressing themselves non – judgmentally and creatively. I have found that using art in my practice helps individuals increase insight and learn to regulate their complex emotions. I subscribe to the belief that “Artwork is a visual documentation of thoughts and feelings… the long-term benefits of this process include improved self-esteem, richer self-empowerment, and the development of skills that can be used in the future to deal with life’s challenges.” – Leah Guzman, ATR – BC.
In my free time I love to spending time with my family at our cabin – being in nature is the perfect getaway from today’s fast paced world. Most importantly, expressing myself through art is my lifelong passion.
