AnneMarie Suarez-Davis, MSW LSW

THERAPIST

BIO

My name is AnneMarie (she/her) and I am a licensed social worker. In a world that can feel overwhelming at times, I seek to provide a safe and affirming space where you can feel comfortable showing up just as you are. I approach my work through a lens that is trauma-informed, person-centered and strengths-based. From a place of gentle curiosity and a deep respect for each person’s unique lived experiences, I am passionate about providing a nurturing space where we can work together to identify and build on your strengths, fostering hope and personal growth.

Utilizing modalities that include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT skills, and motivational interviewing, I work to create treatment approaches that are best suited to meet each person’s needs. I am also trained in providing LGBTQ+ affirming CBT. Prior to working at Catalyst, I worked at GenderNexus, providing care coordination support and counseling services to gender-diverse folks and their loved ones. Finding deep meaning in this work, I continue to facilitate the partner support group for GenderNexus.

Having benefited from the love and comfort of a canine companion during difficult times in my own life, I believe strongly in the power of the human-animal connection. As such, I am thrilled to be able to include my golden retriever, Woodson, in my work at Catalyst. Woodson and I have volunteered together for over five years providing stress relief and comfort to youth and young adults across central Indiana. Woodson has a calm and joyful nature, and he is always happy to be a part of our work together if you would like. I will also be at the office without Woodson at times if that’s your preference.

Outside of my work at Catalyst, I enjoy spending time with my spouse, two sons, and Woodson. We love to travel and experience new places. Gardening is a new passion of mine. I received my MSW from the University of Michigan. I am also President of the board for The Chris Center, a local nonprofit that offers nature-based and animal-assisted programs that support mental wellness for teens and pre-teens.
